What happens when a mining site takes a break from business-as-usual?
Maintenance and upkeep tend to fall by the wayside. So, when our client reopened their mine after a shutdown period, Mabone Enterprises assisted with general maintenance – but more specifically, upgrading the lighting at their entrance.
The Problem:
Lighting plays a key role in safety and security. When employees report for work it is important that they feel safe on arrival. What’s more, the security team needs sufficient lighting to be able to identify faces and effectively complete the register.
The Solution:
After our initial assessment, our team recommended two Beka LEDFlood Midi 147Watt Optic 5304W, which we installed on an existing 8m pole, 15 degrees apart and angled at 15 degrees for the T-junction area.
This installation would provide sufficient light without blinding arriving and passing motorists. In addition, we installed two Beka LEDNova Midi 70Watt Optic 5304W at the main entrance, which were placed back-to-back at an angle of 15 degrees.
This solved the problems of safety and security, ensuring that the security now has ample light to clearly identify the drivers, do proper vehicle inspections and complete the register.
