PROJECT OVERVIEW:
When a local platinum mine in the North West region reopened production, they realised that they needed to upgrade the existing buildings’ lighting. After consulting with Mabone LED Consultants, they realised that this would be the perfect time to make the switch from compact fluorescent to LED technology.
THE PROBLEM:
The goal of the project was to light up the surrounding area and to reduce overall glare. However, it was also important to promote dark skies and minimalise light pollution – which was something we needed to educate the client on.
THE SOLUTION:
After careful inspection and deliberation, we made the decision to use the Beka QVAL 36W Bulkhead Optic 4410. Why? Because this is the ideal optic for the environment, providing the appropriate level of lighting required without causing light pollution.
Of course, as always, the proof is in the pudding – and these images snapped by a DJI Mavic drone shows that, while the surrounding areas are perfectly illuminated, there is little to no light pollution. A win in every way!
