PROJECT OVERVIEW
We love producing creative solutions for our clients, and this one is no exception!
We recently worked with a local platinum mine in the North West region to propose a solution for their change house lighting
THE PROBLEM
The existing setup consisted of 1.2meter 2 x 36-Watt fluorescent luminaires which, according to the mine inspector provided insufficient lighting- and it was something the staff complained about often.
What’s more, the light had a very distinct glare, and it just wasn’t a good fit for a change house.
THE SOLUTION
Our goal was to propose a lighting solution that would not only solve all the client’s problems, but that would also be resistant to the “elements” of a change house- for instance, the mist from the showers.
The BEKA VAPOURLINE 46-Watt LED IP65 Luminaire seemed like the perfect solution, as it would reduce their power by 26 Watt per fitting-so, across 24 fittings, that’s a massive saving of 624 Watt!
The 4000-k neutral white colour also solved the issue of glare and, because we took the time to place the luminaires in a way that offers maximum lighting, it provided excellent uniformity of light.
These new light fittings are fully compliant with the Occupational Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and the client was absolutely thrilled with the outcome!
