Project Overview
To keep the look and feel of the same area consistent, we use the same fittings for the same type of applications, even if it’s a mining environment. One of our client’s had already standardised on a specific fitting to light up the conveyor belts, not only because the fitting performs so well but it also looks good for this application.
Problem
Their current installation was an Edison screw type fitting, using an energy-saving bulb. With technology constantly improving, the wattages of these energy saving lamps keep on changing and our client couldn’t change all the lamps every time one lamp needed to be changed. This meant there were lamps of different colours, temperature, and brightness causing poor uniformity and light distribution.
Solution
We installed the BEKA OPTIWAY 13Watt Surface mount Bulkhead Optic 3100 Oval Wide with a 4000k Neutral White colour. This fitting provides enough light for the client to comply with the safety regulation requirements and resulted in a happy client with only one type of luminaire instead of multiple different types.
