PROJECT OVERVIEW:
We recently installed lighting for the flotation cells at a local concentrator in the North West region. We used BEKA LEDBay Midi 64LED’s 216W Optic 5120 Suspended Version Lumens 27980, and the project was a great success!
PROBLEM:
Due to the environment and the regulations that the client faces, we needed to find a smart solution that would minimize light pollution in compliance with the Mine Health & Safety Act
SOLUTION:
We had to use a durable and industrial type fitting with a high IP rating due to the environment. The luminaire installed was the Beka-Schreder LEDBay Midi 216W Optic 5120, which have a specific optic to ensure the light is directed evenly to ensure uniformity and to minimalise light pollution. The 4 000 kelvin neutral colour LEDs ensure a warmer working environment while also attracting less insects. For added peace of mind, these luminaires come standard with 10kV surge protection and thermal temperature management.
