When a local chrome plant in the North-West region approached us to do an upgraded lighting solution, Mabone jumped at the challenge to create a lighting solution that literally saves lives.
The Problem: The existing lighting was poor and insufficient, creating dark and unsafe corners, which even resulted in a number of accidents. When our team took a look at the existing installation, we found that it consisted of old HID luminaires which weren’t the correct colour temperature for the cameras to function optimally, and this was making the security team’s job nearly impossible.
The Solution: We started by looking at the existing setup to plot ways to improve it, and instantly noticed how dusty the area was. At this point we realised that we would need to install a lighting solution that could penetrate the dust to improve visibility. After careful planning and plotting, we suggested 4 x BEKA LEDFlood Midi 138W Optic 5068 on a 12mtr mast. Why? Because we knew it would provide a very symmetrical lighting distribution, and therefore offer a good level of uniformity. Now, the team loves working in this space as it is safe and well-lit – the AFTER photo speaks for itself!
