PROJECT OVERVIEW:
We’ve been busy this year, and one area we particularly focused on was helping our clients optimise their lighting. We recently supplied a local platinum mine in the North-West region with high mast lighting using the BEKA OMNIStar Maxi with 144LED’s, Optics 2259, Stirrup Mount and a total of 61950 lumens
PROBLEM:
After years of struggling with replacing 1000W High Pressure Sodium lamps which were barely lasting a year, we convinced our client to switch to LED lighting.
SOLUTION:
Despite being reluctant at first, the client took our advice and quickly found that not only did the lights put out an incredible light output even at 46 meters up in the air but they also only drew 2Amps per light. Knowing that the previous light’s were drawing around 12Amps per light and with 6 lights per pole they quickly realised the huge cost savings to be had. After nearly 2 years in service now, the client has still not encountered a single problem or fault.
HERE’S WHAT THE CLIENT HAD TO SAY:
“Being old school, was very reluctant to move to LED lights – especially with the current state of Eskom that can’t deliver a constant voltage with many dips and spikes in the system. With my knowledge that LED lights don’t like big volt variations, I was very skeptical. Nevertheless, Mabone convinced me to go the LED route – and what a huge surprise was I in for! I will never go back to old school again. I can highly recommend this type of LED lights!”
