UNDERGROUND LIGHTING EFFICIENCY

UNDERGROUND LIGHTING EFFICIENCY

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Mabone recently supplied a local platinum mine in the North-West region with a superior and comprehensive underground lighting solution.

PROBLEM:

The client’s existing fluorescent fittings simply did not provide sufficient lux to comply with the Mine, Health and Safety Regulations. In addition, the lighting created constant maintenance issues, which led to unnecessary cost overheads and time expenditures.

SOLUTION:

We started by creating a lighting design to determine which luminaire will be most efficient for the area to comply with the Mine, Health and Safety Regulations and the result was spectacular! For this project, we used BEKA LEDBay Midi, Gen II, 256LED’s, 177Watt, Optic 4130, Suspended version with 29000 lumens and BEKA LEDNova Midi, 32LED’s, 70Watt, Optic 5068, Mounting lug version with Universal Driver and 10235 lumens. By switching to LED there would be no maintenance issues and it would provide for a safer working environment.
